AKU Aira V-Light Gore-Tex (AK784) – Green/Sage

The AKU Aira V-Light Gore-Tex in Green/Sage — 395g low hiking shoes built from recycled materials end to end. Recycled knit upper, Gore-Tex Most Breathable waterproofing made with recycled fibres, partially recycled AKU Tenuta Grip sole, Ortholite footbed. Hiking trainers that hold their own on moorland paths, fell approaches and muddy tracks — then move straight into the city without a change of shoes. Walking shoes that carry a full sustainability story without carrying unnecessary weight.

WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT

  • Gore-Tex Most Breathable — the highest-breathability Gore-Tex membrane in AKU's range: keeps feet dry on wet moorland and rain-caught trail days while managing heat build-up better than Gore-Tex More Seasons, so warm-day outings don't end in clammy feet
  • IMS Internal Midsole System — an adaptive cushioning layer between the lasting board and footbed that moulds to the exact shape of your foot, distributing pressure evenly across the full footbed for all-day comfort whether you're on trail or pavement
  • Recycled construction throughout — recycled knit upper, Gore-Tex membrane made with recycled fibres, partially recycled AKU Tenuta Grip outsole, Ortholite Hybrid partially recycled footbed, recycled laces: no material in the build cuts performance corners to meet the sustainability brief
  • The lightest Gore-Tex option in the Aira family at 395g — 10g heavier than the non-waterproof Aira V-Light (385g) for full Gore-Tex protection; 25g heavier than the Omnia V-Light Gore-Tex (370g) but with IMS foot-adaptive cushioning the Omnia doesn't carry and a recycled knit upper with greater flex and stretch than the Omnia's fabric and microfibre construction
  • UK 3–13 including half sizes

BEST FOR

  • Trail walkers, day hikers and fell goers who want waterproof low hiking shoes under 400g — where the non-waterproof Aira covers dry-weather days, the GTX handles everything else in the same lightweight, comfortable platform
  • Buyers building a kit list with a lower environmental footprint — recycled materials throughout all components, with Gore-Tex waterproofing and IMS cushioning that don't compromise on performance to get there
  • Active commuters and city walkers who move regularly between moorland paths and urban streets, wanting walking shoes that work across both without looking wrong on either
