Mountaineering
AKU mountaineering footwear is built for technical movement in the mountains—steep, mixed ground where rock, snow and cold, wet conditions demand precision, protection and dependable traction. Expect secure uppers and stable underfoot structure that support confident foot placement and edging control when terrain gets serious. Many models use Vibram® outsoles for grip and durability, while waterproof protection via Gore-Tex® is available on selected styles (model-dependent). For higher-output ascents, some models feature AKU AIR8000® uppers to increase breathability (model-dependent), while fit-tuning systems such as Dynamic Fit System may appear on specific models (model-dependent). Crampon compatibility is model-dependent—always confirm on the individual product page before use.
