Dynamic Fit System
Adaptive heel hold that works with your stride — for comfort, stability and reduced slippage.
Dynamic Fit is AKU’s heel-tension technology designed to adapt dynamically as you walk. During the step, the system increases heel hold when you drive forward, then releases pressure when you land and load the heel — supporting comfort across long wear while helping reduce heel slip.

Dynamic Fit uses a floating webbing behind the heel connected to the laces. As you walk, the system changes tension through the step: it increases heel lock during forward drive, then releases pressure when the heel is loaded — supporting comfort and stability. |
Push Phase (forward drive)
As you step forward, the motion generates tension on the laces connected to the floating heel webbing. The heel counter moves forward, helping to lock the heel and reduce slippage. ![]() |
Support Phase (heel load)
When you rest on the heel, tension is released from the laces and floating webbing, allowing the heel and Achilles area to move back. This reduces pressure on the foot and supports better comfort through the stride. ![]() |

Tip: if you’re choosing between two models, tell us your terrain and pace — we’ll recommend the best family for stability and heel hold. |
Dynamic Fit relies on the lace path and heel webbing moving freely. Keep the lace area clean and avoid over-tightening.

Is Dynamic Fit the same as DFS?
No. DFS is a two-mode forefoot lacing system (Comfort Walking / Precise Climbing). Dynamic Fit is a heel-tension system that adapts through the stride.
Will Dynamic Fit stop heel lift completely?
It is designed to reduce slippage by increasing heel lock during forward drive, but sizing, sock choice and lacing still matter most. If you still get heel lift, you may need a different size or last shape.
Does it feel tighter at the heel?
You may feel more secure heel hold when moving. If you feel pressure at rest, slightly reduce lace tension and ensure it’s even across eyelets.
